Beauty

The brisk mornings here in Kansas City would be dreadful if it weren't for my current neighbors. I'm completely refreshed and forgetting my freezing hands with just one glance at these beauties!

There are many more if you click on the photos.

We are now staying with the most adorable southern family. I'll be gushing on them in another post. We've been staying up way too late and we had such a fun day shooting photo's that I REALLY need to just go snuggle in the covers and call it a night.

FUN in NAWLINS!

got doodie in nawlins? this is your guy to call!!

When you gotts do you dootie in New Orleans, this is your guy to call!!

We've been enjoying Nawlins, despite that it has been raining and cold for the most part since we've arrived! About an hour or so from where we are have gotten snow! We are heading to some parades again tonight, even though its posed to be in the lower 30's and feeling like 20's. We've gone to so many parades already! The boys have sooooo many beads it aint funny!

The last few days we've just explored around the state park we're in. This morning we awoke to a wet COLD blanket around 5 a.m.!! There is a small spot around the air conditioner that still leaks even though we thought we had it sealed good. We snuggled together and stayed as warm as we could hoping to get through. Tonight we'll be lighting the propane for sure and praying for no rain!!

Here's a little picture tour-

Ninth Ward Graffiti

My brother and the boys as we were shooting photo's down in the lower ninth ward. its amazing the devastation that is still present. we are staying real close to the this area, every time i drive thru it amazes me that all the infamous writing on the houses are still present...not to mention that so many streets are filled with gutted homes, the holes in the roof speak volumes. I'm also amazed that some people haven't given up and are now residing in their newly rebuilt houses, even in the midst of the reminding chaos surrounding them. Most have proud signs that state historic restoration program! They indeed should be proud!

ON THE ROAD!

We are officially on the ROAD!! We started off with in a few resorts around central florida and meet up with some cool folks aka families on the road. It was a good intro for the kids to know hey we're not alone on this journey (or aka your MAMA IS NOT CRAZY! or at least the only crazy one!!)

Well we are now OUTTA state for good!! We're currently in New Orleans completely enjoying a beautiful state park that has a middle of no where feel yet in reality we are just a few miles from the BIG EASY! I have a techno glitch and can't access the net with my laptop otherwise I'd share some photo's with ya! Hopefully it gets resolved soon. In the meantime I'm posting from the hospital. Yep you read that right we were going along having a GREAT time and then one of our traveling friends/partners in crime had an emergency and ended up having surgery a few hours ago. She's doing well now sleeping off the meds and as soon as she fully recovers it will be back to the regularlly scheduled adventures of exploring!! Its actually been quite COLD and rainy here so we're REALLY looking forward to some good weather and some more GOOD TIMES! We plan on being here a few more weeks just in time for MARDI GRAS!

before and after

Last year, we as a family felt a great change coming our way. We sought God, we talked, we dreamed, we questioned and wondered, we prayed, we endured hardship and heartbreak,we prayed,we looked at our life as we once knew it, we prayed, we felt the demand, we lost, we experienced more heartbreak and brokenness, we prayed and prayed and prayed....till finally we realized we are on the road that leads home. This is our visual and written journey as
we gladly give up our comfort and our stuff to explore and to gain a deeper perspective of what truly is home, not just for us, but to others along the way.

It begins with an explosion of color and close comfort! Introducing our 69 vintage Scotty travel trailer! We just about have it completely redone! Here's what we started with-
